TKS In-flight De-icing Fluids
Kilfrost – the ‘K’ in TKS – developed the concept of in-flight de-icing in the early 1940’s. Today the fundamentals of the TKS system have not changed.
The TKS system provides a protective layer of fluid via porous metal structures that form the leading edge of the wing and tail surfaces. The fluid both melts and then prevents the adhesion of ice.
Manufactured to the same exacting standards as Kilfrost’s market leading wing de-/anti-icers, used by leading airlines and airports around the world, TKS 80 and R328 have been specifically developed and optimised for use with the TKS system.
Both R328 and TKS 80 offer excellent de-/anti-icing performance, TKS 80 meeting the demands of those who require an alcohol free formulation.
